Project Description
The Riverside Stadium is a purpose built football ground located in the North Yorkshire town of Middlesbrough. Home to Middlesbrough F.C. since first opening in 1995, the 35,742 capacity ground was constructed at a cost of £16 million.
Middlesbrough FC earned its promotion back into the Premier League in 2016 after finishing runners-up in the Football League Championship. With a move back into England’s top football league in store, club officials set out to find a cost-efficient system that complied with Premier League lighting standards.
The installation of the new system at Riverside Stadium provides the club with features that reduce the cost of ownership and produce a stage-like atmosphere for players, spectators, and television broadcasts:
- Light Control – Customised optics direct light onto the pitch and minimises glare from shining into the eyes of athletes and fans
- Energy Savings – Instant on/off capabilities and dimming controls adjust light power output, further conserving energy
- Superior Performance – Increases light levels by 100 percent, while providing consistent light uniformity across the playing surface
- Entertainment – Features DMX special effects for pre-show and halftime lighting displays
The system is also covered by a 10-year parts and labour warranty backed by a team of technicians, that eliminates maintenance costs for the next decade.
